The driver climbed onto the tanker to collect a sample of CNA using a sampler container on a rope. As he was lowering the sample to the person on the ground (for laboratory testing) the sample started to swing as the rope became unbalanced. The acid spilled onto his right hand. He immediately took off his gloves and washed the area with water, but still obtained first degree skin burns to his forearm and hand.
